Oh sure, make mine teeny tiny. I guess that’s what I get for going portrait when you went landscape. 😉

Finn – Exactly! 🙂 Using the full width was just too big, so I just made it the same height as mine. But as you observed, that’s too small in comparison. I realized that the better choice was to make it the same size as mine rotated (which is probably what most people would do straight-away). So, I’ve updated it to that.

Sybil Law – Ah! So if we end up with “waxy” as a theme at some point, we can just reuse these. 🙂

Your shiny pictures are WAY MUCH shinier than mine. I like. Both.

Miss Grace – Thanks. When I saw yours I thought rustic more than shine, but then I noticed the sunlight and wondered if the eye-view was shinier than the photo. I almost didn’t even take the floor shot because I’ve tried it in the past and been unhappy. I’m glad I worked on it though (ended up with f/13 and a 4 second exposure).

It WAS shiny in the sun. Glinty really. But then it didn’t come out quite right and then it was Tuesday and I had to send Kellee SOMETHING. Oh well.

Miss Grace – Yeah, the time pressure is a bitch sometimes. I try to make sure to get my photo done by Monday, if not on the weekend. Of course, this is actually because I don’t get home until pretty late on Tuesdays.

Both are good shots. Shiny is can be hard to do on purpose and candles are always difficult to shoot.

clint – Yeah, I’ve gotten some decent candle shots in the past, but usually more from luck than anything else. I remember one wedding I attended that had candles along the aisle. I must have taken a dozen shots of the nearby candle and ended up with maybe one I liked.

Coal Miner’s Granddaughter – I love our floors, though they’ve been taking a beating from our dog lately; she’s in desperate need of a nail trim. Maybe she’ll get that while she’s at the training center next week.

Great shots. I’d participate but I’m hardly a photographer. I just goof around with the AUTO setting on my camera and hope for the best.

Karl – Thanks. The settings on the camera are much less important than the eye behind it. To this day, some of my favorite shots are from before I really had any idea what I was doing. (Notably, this shot of the floor required more familiarity with the camera settings than almost any other shot I’ve taken.)

I really like your shiny-floor image. Was a creative take on the theme. I’m going to have to step up my game, you guys are making me look bad. I was commenting on someone else’s blog today… must stop only taking picture within 20 feet of my front door! 🙂 Being a home-body and a photographer do not always go hand in hand. Especially since I work from home – I never get out of here.!

Kellee – I find it somewhat amusing that three of the four weeks where you just commented have pictures that I took at home. 🙂
